If there is one thing you should have learned by now as a contributor in an emerging field as exciting, complex, and unpredictable as blockchain, it's this: it takes an ecosystem to launch a disruptive technology.

Hyperledger and Ethereum are two highly visible open source blockchain projects driving innovation on the global stage at the moment, and although the relationship between their associated communities is commonly framed from the outside as an adversarial one, there is in fact a lot more collaboration going on between them (both publicly and behind the scenes) that is worth an exploration, perhaps even one that goes beyond commonly understood depictions of "competitors" and "partners", and delves instead into a new way of working, innovating, and collectively harnessing the inexhaustible passion of a diverse subset of dreamers, thinkers, and doers to mobilise our global community in a movement that's all about organising ourselves differently- from how we transact, to how we interact.

This panel will showcase the perspectives of four HLF community contributors, each of whom play key roles as the architects, product builders, and adoption drivers of Ethereum and/or Hyperledger solutions; each representing organisations (organisms, if you will!) that co-exist in the blockchain ecosystem as both adversaries and allies, competitors and collaborators, professionals and friends.

Here, panelists will come together not only to discuss how this "symbiotic tension" may be the key to a blockchain-powered future, but also to ruminate on the barriers that remain when it comes to unlocking the full potential of Ethereum and Hyperledger-based technologies, and how our communities can leverage our collective talent, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit to do better.
